About Lauki Ka Halwa Recipe: Give your regular halwa a spin with this delicious recipe of lauki halwa. A simple one to prepare packed wth the nutty cruncha and goodness of almonds, cashews and raisins.

Ingredients of Lauki Ka Halwa

  • 600 gms lauki/bottle gourd/ doodhi/ghiya
  • 1/4 cup clarified butter
  • 5 Cashews, chopped
  • 5 Almonds, chopped
  • 2 tbsp raisins
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar

How to Make Lauki Ka Halwa

  • 1.Heat ¼ cup ghee and roast 5 cashew, 5 almond and 2 tbsp raisins.
  • 2.Fry nuts to golden brown and keep aside.
  • 3.Now add in grated lauki and sauté for 5 minutes.
  • 4.Sauté till the lauki shrinks slightly and changes colour.
  • 5.Add in ½ cup milk and mix well.
  • 6.Cook for 10 minutes or till milk thickens and lauki gets cooked completely.
  • 7.Further add in ¾ cup sugar and mix well.
  • 8.Sugar melts and boil for 5 minutes or till it thickens.
  • 9.Add in khoya into lauki mixture and mix well.
  • 10.Keep stirring till the mixture thickens and forms a mass.
  • 11.Add in roasted nuts and ¼ tsp cardamom powder. Mix well.
  • 12.Finally, transfer dudhi halwa / lauki halwa to a bowl and serve hot.
