About Veg Wheat Momos Recipe: The dumpling delicacy, momos from the north east have surely become a rage in no time. Be it a roadside stall or a fine dine, momos have found a place everywhere. But did you know that making momos at home also isn't a tough task? Here is how you can prepare wheat momos at home!

Ingredients of Veg Wheat Momos

  • 2 Cups wheat flour (atta)
  • 2 tsp oil
  • to taste salt
  • Water (to knead)
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cups cabbage, shredded
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp pepper (crushed)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp chilli sauce
  • to taste salt

How to Make Veg Wheat Momos

  • 1.Firstly, prepare the dough with wheat flour and rest it for 30 minutes.
  • 2.Now in a large kadhai, heat the oil and saute garlic cloves and onion.
  • 3.Add cabbage and carrot as well. Saute slightly.
  • 4.Now add vinegar, soy sauce, chilli sauce, pepper and salt. Mix well and the stuffing is ready.
  • 5.After an hour, take the prepared momo dough and knead well again for a minute. Pinch a small ball and flatten.
  • 6.Now dust with some wheat flour and start to roll using a rolling pin. Roll to a medium thin circle, roughly 4 - 5 inches in diameter.
  • 7.Now place a heaped tablespoon of prepared stuffing in the centre. Start pleating the dough, forming a momo.
  • 8.Steam the momos for 10-12 minutes.
  • 9.Serve the hot wheat momos with sauce.
