When it is about experimenting with food, hardly any other place is as sport as Delhi-NCR. Being a cosmopolitan and the national capital, this city is packed with people of different culture and food taste. This influences the food culture of Delhi. Since last few years, Delhi-NCR has been experiencing an upsurge in global cuisines like Italian, Japanese, Spanish and more. Speaking about Spanish cuisine, it is heavily influenced by the historical process that shaped the local culture of Spain. Geography and climate influenced the cooking methods and available ingredients of this cuisine.
Ambience
Keeping the essence of the cuisine alive, Pintxo Tapas Bar in Gurgaon delivers authentic recipes, alongside some contemporary ones, through modern culinary techniques. Tapas, derived from the word tapa, stands for appetisers in Spanish cuisine translated to smaller portions. Situated in the beautiful complex of 32nd Milestone, Pintxo is a small cute space that gives an old school Spanish vibe with modern amenities. From its colourful window glasses to the antic-like chandeliers, this place is cosy and perfect for a quite cocktail date; add on to the ambience is the dim yellow lighting and the warm welcome the restaurant offers.
Food And Drinks
We started with a fresh salad, made of orange, pickled fennel and walnut. The sweet-tangy flavour of the orange was balanced well with the coarser taste of walnut and worked as a perfect starter to a great meal. We moved on to the garlic prawn. The taste of the prawns and the crunch of the burn garlic, submerged in olive oil was undoubtedly a sinful indulgence. We then moved on to crab meat patty with veggies and barbeque pork ribs. What stunned our palate was the tenderness of the pork! The barbeque pork ribs, offered by Pintxo, can easily be termed as one of the best on town. It was juicy and melted in mouth in no time.
For the main course, we went for fish of the day in lemon butter sauce with mashed potato and the very contemporary duck sliders. Sometimes the simplest dishes are the toughest to make, and mashed potato is one of those. Getting the perfect fluff is not an easy job and seems like this restaurant did it well. If you are in a Spanish restaurant, how can you end a meal without the dessert - churros with chocolate sauce! We ended our meal with the crunch of the freshly made churros and the sweetness of the sauce...it felt like heaven! You can accompany you meal with sangria and some good cocktails (dirty martini, old fashioned, caipiroska) and wines.
So, if you want to have a quite date with loved ones, alongside some good food and wine, try Pintxo out!
