The cooks here are from the North East only and they use herbs from their native place, which makes the food all the more authentic and delicious. They offer lots and lots of varieties to choose from. Their pork with axone, smoked pork with anishi, Assamese pork curry and Assamese fish curry is worth trying. Do try their signature Bamboo Shoot fish curry as it is loaded with a melange of spices and herbs.

2) Hornbill
Hornbill is located in the Safdarjung locality and is a perfect place to satisfy those odd hour hunger pangs. This place offers a variety of options to choose from. If you happen to be a spice junkie, then do try their special chutney which has authentic flavours. It's a bit high on the spice quotient so just be careful. They offer good quantity of food that too at very affordable prices. Pork with seasonal leaf , gizzard fry and their traditional thalis must not be missed. The thing which makes this restaurant different from rest is that they use wooden utensils which gives a more homely feel.

This restaurant needs a special mention in this list. What makes Nimtho different from other restaurants is that it serves pure Nepalese and Himalayan cuisine. It's a paradise for spice lovers as it offers a huge variety of spicy dishes. If you are here, you must not forget to try their Sikkimesepork thali, chicken tiago momos, thentuk and thukpa as well.

This place is quite famous for its Naga food. Bamboo Hut is located in GTB Nagar and is mostly inhabited by college crowd. It is immensely popular among students from Delhi University and Vijay Nagar as most of the students in Vijay Nagar and GTB Nagar are from the North East. Though this place has bit of a space crunch, but you will find authentic Naga food here. Their speciality is chicken thali with bamboo shoot.

5) Rigo Restaurant
This hidden gem is located in Majnu ka Tila and offers authentic North Eastern food. Rigo serves Khow Suey which you won't find in many restaurants around. Though the restaurant is not that big, but it's perfect to hang out with friends. Beef keema dry, pork gravy and khothay momos are worth trying here.
