Before the internet, we barely knew what was happening in the world. But now, thanks to this development in technology, we have been exposed to all sorts of information. From bizarre to innovative, one can find almost anything on the internet. Today, we have found a bizarre food business that has left us confused. A street vendor has started a unique food venture, where he accepts hair as a form of payment for cotton candy. Yes, you heard it right! As bizarre as it sounds, it is true. His concept is "baal ke badle baal" (hair in exchange for cotton candy), using the wordplay on the Hindi word for hair i.e. baal, and Hindi word for cotton candy i.e budhiya ke baal. Take a look:
The hair in the exchange can be any sort of hair, whether it's hair that has naturally fallen from your head or hair that has been cut. The man decides the quantity of cotton candy one gets, depending on how much hair one has exchanged for it. The vendor later sells all the hair he collects and uses the money he earns from the sale to support his cotton candy business. The vendor sells one kilogram of hair for INR 3000. The sold hair is then used to make a wig. The man has used this style of barter system to conduct his business for 4-5 years now. The video was uploaded by food vlogger 'Foody Vishal' on YouTube and the video has 48k views and 2.2k likes so far.
Here's what people had to say in the comments section:
"Earlier, people used the barter system to purchase things in 18th century. But this barter system is still running to date... "Baal ke badle baal" is a unique way of selling street food in India."
"Jawan ke bal lete hain gudiya ke bal dete hai" (Old woman's hair in exchange for young people's hair)
