The spicy and deep-fried Chicken 65 snack is always a hit on a starters spread. Imagine finding the same crispy chicken delight sitting pretty inside rich biryani, another one of our favorite meals. Chicken biryani made with minced chicken or marinated chicken chunks has always won our heart, and our taste buds. Chicken 65 biryani, an unusual amalgamation of two knockout dishes, will wow you like nothing else. It's perfect for a special meal with family and for a get-together with friends.
Chicken 65 biryani recipe is similar to a regular one, so you really don't have to go out of the way to prepare for it. Instead of cooking chicken with rice, chicken pieces are marinated and fried, and then layered with rice and biryani masala to cook 'dum' style.

Step-By-Step Chicken 65 Biryani Recipe:
(Serving - 4)
Ingredients:
For Chicken Tikka:
500 gm boneless chicken
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
Half tsp garam masala
Salt to taste
Red chilli powder to taste
1 tbsp curd
Half tsp cumin powder
Half tsp coriander powder
1 tsp chicken tikka masala (optional)
1 egg
2 tbsp all-purpose flour (maida)
2 whole red chillies
8-10 curry leaves
For Biryani Masala:
2 onions, sliced
2 tomatoes, chopped
1 green chilli, slit
1 bay leaf
2-3 cloves
8-10 peppercorns
1 inch cinnamon stick
2-3 cardamoms
Salt to taste
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Half tsp cumin powder
Half tsp coriander powder
2 tbsp curd
1 tsp garam masala powder
For Biryani:
2 cups rice
Half tsp salt
3 tbsp cup mint leaves
3 tbsp coriander leaves
2 tbsp ghee
Method:
Step 1 - Marinate chicken with ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, salt, curd, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, egg and maida. Add more flour if the mixture is too wet. Marinate the chicken for at least one hour.
Step2 - Boil rice in water with salt till almost cooked. Make sure the rice is not fully cooked and mushy.
Step 3 - Now, make chicken 65. Heat oil in a pan and saute red chillies and curry leaves. Add the marinated chicken pieces and fry till cooked and crispy.
Step 4 - Heat oil in a pan and fry the onion slices. Keep aside.
Step 5 - To make biryani masala, heat oil, add all the whole spices till they splutter. Add green chilli and ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute. Add half of the fried onions and mix well.
Step 6 - Add tomatoes and rest of the spice powders. When tomatoes are cooked, add 2 tbsp curd and wait till it leaves water. Then add chicken 65 and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
Step 7 - Take out half of the chicken mixture. Place half of the rice, sprinkle half of the mint leaves, coriander leaves and some fried onions. Also, splay 1 tbsp ghee over it.
Step 8 - Repeat the process with rest of the chicken 65 masala and rice.
Step 9 - Now, cover the pan and secure the edges with some kneaded dough to cook the biryani in 'dum' style.
When the biryani is cooked, you can add around 1 tbsp pf lemon juice to add some zing to it. Serve the delicious biryani with curd, raita or salan, and enjoy a drool-worthy meal with your loved ones.
