The auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi is just around the corner. It marks the birth anniversary of Lord Ganesha and is celebrated with great devotion all over India, and majorly in Maharashtra. This year, it will be celebrated on August 31, 2022. And just like any other Indian festival, mithai and food play a major role during these celebrations. Devotees offer bhog to Lord Ganesha in order to seek his blessings. While numerous dishes and sweets are prepared, 'modak', a dumpling-like sweet treat, is an intrinsic part of the feast. It is believed that modak was one of Lord Ganesha's favourite mithais, which is why he is known by the name 'Modakpriya'.
Considering this, here we bring you a delicious kaju gulkand modak recipe to make this festival even more special. Kaju Gulkand Modak Recipe: How To Make Kaju Gulkand Modak
To begin with the recipe, we first need to prepare the dough. For this, soak the cashew nuts in water for about an hour or so. Now, drain out the water and make a paste of it. Put this paste in a pan, add sugar and let it settle for 15 mins. Then switch on the gas and keep stirring it on a low flame for 45 mins.
For the stuffing, add gulkand to pista flakes and make small balls out of it. Stuff these balls in the cashew nut dough that you prepared. Add rose petals to the modak mould and then add the stuffed balls, so that rose petals stick to the modak. For garnishing, add gold varak on it. Kaju gulkand modak is ready to serve!
