Sharing a delectable way to include jowar (Sorghum) in our diet, Shilpa has shared a desi recipe of jowar ki roti that's high on the health quotient of course, through her Instagram page - “SS App By Shilpa Shetty.” Not just this, but she has also underlined some of the health benefits of this dish alongside.
In the caption, she mentioned, “If you have been meaning to incorporate jowar in your daily diet but didn't how, here's the solution: The Jowar Roti.” She further elaborated that it's gluten-free, aids weight loss, and also helps regulate bowel movements.
How to make jowar ki roti?
1) In the video, first we saw Shilpa Shetty taking about a cup of water in a container and boiling it with some salt.
2) Once, the water boils, she puts about a cup of jowar ka atta (sorghum flour) into it. She then adds about a tablespoon of oil into it and mixes it well.
3) After cooking it for some time, she takes it all out on a platter. Now, converts the jowar mixture into a dough. Before that, she puts some ghee into it to make it a little softer. In the process, we also see her adding a tablespoon of white sesame seeds and black sesame seeds each.
4) Finally, she makes a good dough out of it. As the final step to make the flatbread, she uses a small portion as a ball and flattens it in the form of roti. Lastly, she puts it on the flat pan to cook it further. With some ghee on it, jowar ki roti gets ready.
