This dal soup also helps in weight loss because of its high protein and fibre content. How to Make Weight Loss Masoor Dal Soup: Recipe to Make Masoor Dal Soup at Home
Rinse and soak masoor dal for 30 minutes. Set it aside. Take a large pot and heat ghee/oil on medium flame. Now add cumin seeds to the oil and wait for them to splutter. Add chopped onions and ginger and saute until the onions are translucent.
Now add spices - coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, black pepper, and salt, and mix well. Cook until the spices are well-coated in onions and ginger. After it's cooked, add soaked masoor dal and diced carrots and mix well. Add 4 cups of water to the mix and stir well. Bring masoor dal soup to a boil and then cover it with a lid for 20-25 minutes.
After the masoor dal and carrots are soft, add more water if the soup has become thick. Give it a good mix and add salt if needed. Garnish with coriander leaves and slivered ginger slices, and voila! Your Masoor Dal Soup is ready to serve!
