National Nutrition Week starts today (September 1). It is an annual event celebrated between September 1st to 7th to raise awareness around eating healthy and nutritious. And this becomes yet more important in the current situation amidst the ongoing pandemic. Since the beginning of 2020, experts around the world have been stressing on eating healthy for overall nourishment and immunity. In fact, immunity lays foundation for a healthy body. While some are blessed with a strong immunity since childhood, others grow it with time, age and right kind of lifestyle. "Food helps maintain the integrity of our body and certain foods are linked to boosting immunity. Research tells immunity is built up over a period of time; so daily intake of variety of nourishing, wholesome foods along with a healthy lifestyle is necessary to connect the dots," says consultant nutritionist Rupali Datta.
