There is no denying that online food and grocery delivery apps have made our lives a lot easier. However, customers may sometimes face issues such as poor food quality, late delivery, or wrong items being delivered. But have you ever come across an instance where a customer has received the same order six times? This is exactly what happened with a user in Gurugram. On Thursday, Praanay Loya on X (formerly Twitter) dropped a picture of three Swiggy delivery executives standing at his doorstep with the same order. In a thread, Praanay attached screenshots of the account page of the app, giving us a glimpse at his order—1kg Idli-dosa batter, a pineapple slice, two carton of milk and peppermint chewing gum. The text along with the picture read, “I unintentionally broke down Swiggy's app. 6 delivery executives brought the same order! Here is what happened:”

The customer revealed that while he was placing the orders and money towards the payment was deducted, the order status showed cancelled. So he tried placing the order again. This cycle lasted for quite some time. Praanay Loya said, “I placed an order on the app. The money was deducted but the order status was being shown as cancelled. Tried placing another order. The same thing happened.”

He added, “Tried to remove a product and placed a COD order in the hope of finally receiving it. Same error after multiple attempts. Finally closed the app and used Zepto to place a fresh order.”

The note attached to the screenshots read, “Suddenly my phone started ringing with multiple calls from the delivery executives. The customer support didn't respond to a single query and the delivery guys came all the way bringing the orders.” He added, “Finally after a couple of hours of back and forth. Now I have 20 litres of milk, 6kg Dosa batter, 6 packets of Pineapple. Let me know what I should do with these?”
