If you are anything like us, then a big slice of chocolate cake is enough to uplift your mood at any time of the day. Let's admit, we all have a soft corner for cakes, cookies, soft drinks and everything sweet and sugary. Be it after a lavish meal or in the middle of the night, we look for something sweet to satiate our cravings. But these delicious treats are loaded with empty calories that often lead to weight gain and other lifestyle diseases. If you want to curb these weird sugar cravings, then we have got you covered! Celebrity nutritionist Pooja Makhija recommends an easy way to keep sugar cravings in control.
In one of her latest Instagram videos, Pooja Makhija explained why we crave sugary goods and an easy way to control these cravings. "Is sugar your boss?? Calls you all the time, anytime? Simplest hack to making sure YOU are boss, not sugar!" she wrote alongside the post.
According to Pooja, sugar cravings are an aftereffect of protein deficit in our body. "Every time you are reaching out for sugar, your body is actually asking you for protein," she explains. So, she recommends one must include a good amount of protein in all three meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner.
"Protein also stimulates the production of leptin. Leptin is a hormone that reduces hunger. And therefore, keeps you more in control of your cravings," she adds.
