Deepika Padukone is one of the leading actors in Bollywood today. Her role in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial 'Padmaavat' was widely appreciated; a film which recently completed three years since its release. Last seen in the film 'Chhapaak', Deepika Padukone has plenty of projects lined up for release in the near future like sports drama '83'. The actor took some time out of her busy schedule to compete with her friend in a 'Bake Off' contest. The duo tried their hands at baking a yummy Peanut Butter cookie topped with chocolate ganache. The full video of the Bake Off session was shared by Deepika Padukone on her Instagram handle. Take a look:
Deepika Padukone had earlier shared a few teaser snippets to the video on Instagram for her fan following of 53 million. The video featured Deepika Padukone and her friend Hiteshi Mehta, and they both were given similar ingredients to make a Peanut Butter cookie. Deepika explained the purpose behind the Bake off, "This is my way of getting back at Hiteshi because she was a topper in school. Always the best at everything! Number 1. And this is the one thing I can do better." The five-minute 26-second video clip has now been viewed over a million times on the platform.
We saw them initially struggling to understand what the ingredients placed before them were. They also engaged in friendly banter alongside the baking process, revealing how they knew each other since Class 4. Hiteshi also spoke about how Deepika would write her exam so that nobody could see her answers. Both the ladies would also secretly reveal to the camera some less-known secrets about each other throughout the video. For instance, Deepika Padukone confessed she hid some of Hiteshi's sugar during the bake off.
The whole video seemed like a lot of fun, and the resulting cookies looked absolutely divine too. They ended the video by asking for suggestions for bakery names that they could open together. Nothing like spending some quality time with your best friend, right? We hope to see Deepika Padukone trying to bake some other delicious goodies soon.
