Ingredients of Goan Batata Bhaji

  • 3 Potatoes
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 6-7 Curry leaves
  • 2 Green chillies, chopped
  • 2-3 Garlic cloves
  • A pinch of Asafoetida
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Haldi
  • Coriander leaves, for garnishing
  • Water, as required
  • 1/4 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Oil

How to Make Goan Batata Bhaji

Start by washing and boiling the potatoes. Once done, cut them into bite-sized cubes.

Now, add curry leaves, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, heeng, and green chillies to a pan of heated oil. Allow them to splutter.

Once done, add the cubed potatoes, garlic, and seasonings (salt, sugar, and turmeric powder), and stir well. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes.

After cooking, add the mashed potatoes and mix well. Ps: Do not mash the cubed potatoes.

Add some water to make a gravy. (Make sure to add it gradually.) Stir well, cover and cook for around 4-5 mins.
6.
Once done, garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot!
