How to make Kromeskies

Bacon wrapped around cooked chicken and mushrooms, coated in batter and deep fried.

Ingredients of Kromeskies

  • 2 chopped onions
  • 100 gm finely chopped mushrooms
  • 25 gm butter
  • 100 gm fresh breadcrumbs
  • 2 egg yolks
  • Salt and pepper
  • Grated nutmeg
  • 250 gm cooked chicken/ham
  • 16 rashers bacon
  • For the Batter:
  • 175 gm flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 275 ml water
  • 2 egg whites
  • Oil for frying
  • For Mustard Mayonnaise:
  • 1 Tbsp wholegrain mustard
  • 125 ml mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp honey
  • Pinch of chilli powder
  • Salt and pepper

How to Make Kromeskies

Cook onions and mushrooms in butter until liquid dries.

Combine with crumbs, yolks, cream, seasoning and nutmeg.
3.
Stir in chopped meat/chicken.
4.
Flatten bacon and wrap around spoonfuls of mixture. Chill.

For the Batter:

1.
Mix flour and salt with oil and water.
2.
When smooth, fold in whipped egg whites.
3.
Dip bacon rolls in mixture. Deep fry in hot oil until golden.
4.
Serve immediately with mustard mayonnaise.

For the Mayonnaise:

1.
Mix the ingredients together and serve with Kromeskies.
