Dough stuffed with a yummy dal mixture. Deep fried till golden and puffy. Serve with aloo ki sabzi.

Ingredients of Pithi Puri

  • Dough:
  • 1 kg flour
  • 100 gm semolina
  • Water, to knead dough
  • Pitthi:
  • 1/2 kg black gram dal
  • 1 Tbsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp red chilli powder
  • 3 Tbsp ajwain
  • 3 Tbsp fennel
  • 1/2 kg semolina
  • Oil

How to Make Pithi Puri

  • For the dough:
  • 1.Mix flour semolina and water together to make a dough. The dough is ready.
  • For the pitthi:
  • 1.Soak black gram dal in water and keep it overnight.
  • 2.Now grind the dal and add salt, red chilli powder, bishops weed, fennel and semolina.
  • 3.Mix well. Pitthi is ready.
  • For the main preparation:
  • 1.Make a palm sized ball from the dough.
  • 2.Flatten it and add a small piece of pitthi in the center.
  • 3.Now enclose the pitthi around the dough.
  • 4.Roll and deep fry. Puri is ready to eat.
  • 5.Serve hot with aloo ki aabzi.
