Ingredients of Recheado (Goan Red masala)

  • Grind to a paste:
  • 1 1/2 cup onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp garlic , chopped
  • 4 Cloves
  • 1/4 tsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 3-4 Dried red peppers (Kashmiri mirch)
  • 1/2 tsp peppercorns
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 cup onions , sliced
  • 1 cup tomatoes , finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup oil.
  • A walnut sized tamarind ball or 1 tsp concentrate

How to Make Recheado (Goan Red masala)

Heat oil and add sliced onions.

Let the onions turn brown.

Add tomatoes and fry till the fat separates.

Now add the ground paste and fry till the fat separates again.

Masala is ready.
