This fiery Goan masala is a blend of hot, aromatic spices, tomatoes, onions and tamarind. Add it to your curries to serve absolutely delectable delicacies.

Ingredients of Recheado (Goan Red masala)

  • Grind to a paste:
  • 1 1/2 cup onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp garlic , chopped
  • 4 Cloves
  • 1/4 tsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 3-4 Dried red peppers (Kashmiri mirch)
  • 1/2 tsp peppercorns
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 cup onions , sliced
  • 1 cup tomatoes , finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup oil.
  • A walnut sized tamarind ball or 1 tsp concentrate

How to Make Recheado (Goan Red masala)

  • 1.Heat oil and add sliced onions.
  • 2.Let the onions turn brown.
  • 3.Add tomatoes and fry till the fat separates.
  • 4.Now add the ground paste and fry till the fat separates again.
  • 5.Masala is ready.
Key Ingredients: A walnut sized tamarind ball or 1 tsp concentrate
