Ingredients of Sabut Masoor ki Dal

  • 1 cup sabut masoor ki dal
  • 1 Tbsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp ginger-finely chopped
  • 2 Tbsp ghee
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1/4 cup tomatoes-grated
  • 3 green chillies-slit
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 Tbsp coriander leaves-chopped

How to Make Sabut Masoor ki Dal

Pick, clean and wash the dal.

Cook with water, salt and ginger until the dal becomes soft.
3.
Heat oil in a pan, add the cumin seeds and the bay leaves.
4.
When they splutter, add tomatoes and stir-fry till the oil separates.
5.
Add the green chillies, garam masala, coriander powder and chilli powder and mix well.
6.
Add the dal to this mixture and bring to a boil, leave to simmer for about 10 minutes.
7.
Serve hot. Garnish with coriander leaves.
