Spicy chicken fried with mustard seeds and lentils.

Ingredients of South Indian Fried Chicken

  • 1 chicken - cut into bite sized pieces
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 5 Tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp white urad dal
  • 1 tsp whole fennel seeds
  • 5 whole dried red chillies
  • 2 chopped onions

How to Make South Indian Fried Chicken

  • 1.Rub the salt and turmeric over the chicken. Set aside for 30 minutes.
  • 2.Heat oil, put in mustard seeds, followed by dal.
  • 3.After a few minutes add fennel seeds and red chillies.
  • 4.Add onions and fry until golden.
  • 5.Stir in chicken. Cook over a fast flame for ten to fifteen minutes.
  • 6.Moisten with a dash of water to prevent sticking.
  • 7.Remove from oil and serve with salad.
