It has also become a paradise for food lovers over the years. Here are some of the popular places that you must try the next time you decide to set out on an adventure.
1. Sharma Bhature Wala
Located in the chota bazaar of Shahdara, this old bhatura shop is open only during early morning and has become a popular breakfast joint among the locals. The chole tastes amazing due to the strong flavours of homemade spices and masalas used.

This food cart has been operating here since the past 40 years. The combination of crisp kachori,chole, pudinachutney,meethi chutney and lots of dry fruits is very fulfilling. The use raw banana in the kachoris which adds special sweet taste and flavor to the snack.

3. Hira Lal & Sons
Established in 1912, this popular sweet shop is famous for its Balushahi and Pateesha. The sweet flavours of Balushahi melt in your mouth giving a heavenly treat to your taste buds.

4. Chaudhary Sweets
Located in Krishna Nagar (the food and shopping hub of East Delhi), Chaudhary Sweets, serves Amritsari chole-puri for breakfast. The best part is the onion salad with chutney and the special chole with a yogurt base.

Raja Chat Corner serves some amazing stuffed gol gappas, bhalla papdi,tikki, aloo chaat, matar kulcha and matar kachori. He serves tikki in a unique way with boiled dal which takes the combination of crisp and sweet flavours to another level.

6. Chotu Bhai Lemon Wale
This is a famous stopover for many in the city especially during summer time. The lemonade prepared by this vendor is a sure shot way of quenching thirst during those hot afternoons or after having the spicy street food. The lemonades are prepared using quality ingredients and the masala used is a combination of herbs and spices which helps in better digestion.

7. Shyam Lassi
This shop serves delicious lassis. The flavoured lassi can be sweet or salty according to customer’s preferences. Prepared in a traditional way, these lassis are well garnished with dry fruits and served in clay tumblers which adds to its authentic taste.

8. Veer Ji Chaap
They serve different varieties of chaap but what makes this shop unique is that it serves vegetarian chaaps with non-vegetarian flavours like vegetarian fish tikka, vegetarian leg piece and vegetarian butter chicken. Good for days when you are off meat.

9. Shiv Tikki Wala
This popular street food stall located at the Community Center in Karkardooma is famous for its crispy tikkis and varieties of chaap Their masala pav bhaji and hariyali chaap are a must try The shop serves only vegetarian food including Maharashtrian and Chinese dishes.
