What is an Eggsplosion?
Kuma No Yakitori is a restaurant at Osaka in Japan that serves various varieties of egg dishes that also includes an explosive twist on a dish known as Tamago Gohan. Cooked yolks sit on a bed of rice and a simple prick makes them burst. In a few seconds you will see the yellowish liquid oozing out and flowing all over the rice. The liquid is then mixed with rice and enjoyed. The egg yolks look a bit bigger in size than the regular one and there's a special technique used to make these yolks big and fluffy and to be able to burst them to give enough liquid to mix with rice.
This trend has become so popular that many people have started experimenting with their own versions of eggsplosion and popularizing them on social media. We found some really interesting and creative ways in which people prepared eggsplosion and one of the best ways we thought was the Grilled Cheese Eggsplosion. For this delicious sandwich, you need to first cut out the center in a circle from two bread slices. Add the egg yolks in the center while the bread is being toasted on the pan. Carefully flip the slices of bread ensuring that the eggs don't puncture on the pan. Add cheese slices to each bread on either sides and keep it for a while. Close the sandwich with cheese inside and continue to cook, flipping occasionally. The eggs must be soft-cooked and the cheese should melt a bit. When you take the sandwich off the pan, prick the egg with a knife or fork and you will see the lovely yolk oozing out on your sandwich.
This is how the Grilled Cheese Eggsplosion sandwich should look like :
Here are some beautifully pictured eggsplosions captured by many people who visited the restaurant.
Some people tried it at home and seemed to have achieved a somewhat similar looking Tamago Gohan.
While some recreated their own versions of #eggsplosions.
