Guru Nanak Gurpurab, also known as Guru Nanak Jayanti, marks the birth of Guru Nanak, the first Sikh Guru and the founder of Sikhism. This auspicious occasion, also referred to as Guru Nanak's Prakash Utsav, is a time for devotees to reflect on his teachings and dedicate their lives to selfless service. The term Gurpurab is a combination of two words: Gur, meaning the 'Guru' or master, and Purab, derived from the Hindi word 'parv', signifying day. Therefore, it is the day associated with the Guru. This year, we celebrate the 554th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak.
