President Droupadi Murmu celebrated her birthday yesterday (20 June). To mark the occasion, NDTV put together special videos, including the President's journey from childhood to the present, an interview with her daughter as well as exclusive visuals from inside her home - Rashtrapti Bhavan (Watch the full video here). One of the things that interested us the most was the sneak peek we got into the family kitchen of the Presidential residence. Not only did we get to see what it looks like, but we also got to learn a little bit about the President's food habits.
President Murmu consumes Sattvik food, which is prepared without onion or garlic. She doesn't eat non-vegetarian food at all. In the video, Sanjay Kumar, senior cook at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Kitchen explains that the President prefers simple vegetarian food only. She has no special instructions or specifications for those in the kitchen, beyond the requirement of being served Sattvik food.
