Food, which is essential for our survival, has the power to bring people together, and offering food to the needy is considered a good deed. Preparing your partner's favorite dish is also one of the sweetest things you can do, as a wholesome meal evokes the feeling of love and care. Recently, a video has come to light that seems to reinforce this belief. It shows a veterinarian having his meal while sitting in a cage with a dog to comfort the animal. In the video, shared on Twitter, the man is seen inside a cage with a dog sitting beside him in a corner. The man then brings a bowl with food in it and serves it to the dog before keeping one for himself. The vet begins to eat but notices that the dog is refusing to eat the meal. So, the person picks up some food from the bowl and feeds the dog with his hands. The animal soon starts munching and, after a few seconds, begins eating directly from the bowl.

It was learned that the dog, Graycie, had been subjected to abuse before it was rescued. The video was first posted in 2016 by Granite Hills Animal Care on Facebook. The veterinarian seen in the video is Dr. Andy Mathis from Georgia, US. He had explained in other posts that Graycie was “emaciated, starved (20 lbs), dehydrated, hypothermic, and anemic” when she was rescued. The doctor initially thought of putting the dog to sleep but decided to care for her. Graycie spent most of her time in a corner of her cage. So, in order to comfort her and make sure she eats well, Dr. Andy Mathis went inside the cage and chose to eat his breakfast sitting next to Graycie.
