Till Aam Aadmi Party founder Arvind Kejriwal decided to make his presence felt in the Indian political scene, India, rather Mumbai's most famous Kejriwal was the 'Eggs Kejriwal'. This dish could be around the same age as Arvind Kejriwal, if not older. It's quite likely the latter. And was invented and perfected at the Willingdon Sports Club at Tardeo in Mumbai.
The story of the 'Eggs Kejriwal' is as peculiar as the name itself. A certain Mr. Devi Prasad Kejriwal was a regular visitor to the Willingdon Sports Club. Like the Aggarwals, the Kejriwals are a strictly vegetarian community and non-vegetarian dishes of all kinds including eggs are frowned upon.
But Mr. Devi Prasad Kejriwal was a bit of a rebel and went against norms of his community. His favourite dish at Willingdon Club was eggs on toast with a bit of cheese thrown in between and a healthy sprinkling of chopped green chillies on top. Like most classic dishes that have a cult following, the 'Eggs Kejriwal' is as brilliant as it is simple. How more simple can it get than eggs, cheese and bread. And it's wonderfully put together with a healthy and Indian dose of crisp green chillies.

Mr. Kejriwal was rumoured to have this dish on an everyday basis. And soon enough, it grew in popularity. First among his friends and then later with the other members of the club. And at some point it got added to the club's menu as 'Eggs Kejriwal'. A fitting tribute to the rebel and his favourite snack.
I've eaten the 'Eggs Kejriwal' at Willingdon Sports Club only but I believe it's also on the menu at the Cricket Club of India (CCI) and The Bombay Yacht Club. Could this again be Mr. Kejriwal's doing? Who knows.
