Ingredients of Aloo Chicken Curry

  • 1 Stick Cinnamon Stick
  • 5 Green Cardamoms
  • 5 Cloves
  • 10 Black Peppercorns
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 4 Onions (finely chopped)
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 kg Chicken
  • 3 Potatoes (diced)
  • 2 tbsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • 2 Tomatoes (finely chopped)
  • 1 cup Yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 and a half tbsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • 5 Green Chillies (slit)
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 litre Water
  • Coriander Leaves (chopped)

How to Make Aloo Chicken Curry

Heat oil in a kadhai. Add the whole spices - cinnamon, green cardamom, pepper corn, bay leaf and cumin seeds.

Once the cumin seeds start to splutter add the onions. Saute them till they are golden brown and crips. Add salt to fasten the onions cooking process.

Now add the chicken and sear it. Next add the potatoes. Fry the chicken and potatoes till they are golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste, tomatoes and mix well. Pour in the whisked yoghurt.

Once the oil separates, add turmeric powder, chilli powder, pepper powder, slit green chillies, garam masala powder and mix well. Pour in water to make the gravy. Let the gravy cook till the chicken is done.
5.
The chicken potato curry is ready to be serve!
