Ingredients of Jamaican Torte

  • 8 inch sponge cake roundel
  • 200 gms butter
  • 200 gms jaggery
  • 4 Egg yolks
  • 125 ml strong coffee
  • 3-4 Bananas
  • 2-3 tbsp rum
  • 250 ml whipped cream

How to Make Jamaican Torte

Line the base and sides of an 8 inch cake tin with the sponge cake.

Mix butter with jaggery.
3.
Add egg yolks and coffee. Mix and cool.
4.
Mash bananas with rum and fold in with the cream.
5.
Add the coffee mixture and spoon over the sponge base.
6.
Chill overnight. Garnish with cocoa powder and chopped chocolate.
