Brew up an aromatic cup of tea made with the goodness of cardamon and ginger.

Ingredients of Masalewali Chai

  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tsp tea leaves
  • 1/2 tsp finely chopped ginger
  • 2 tsp sugar or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp chai masala

How to Make Masalewali Chai

  • 1.1. Bring the water to a boil. Add the tea leaves and ginger and simmer for a minute.
  • 2.2. Add the chai masala. For chai masala, grind equal quantities of star anise (badiyan), cinnamon (dal chini), laung (cloves) and elaichi (cardamom). (In this case, one or two of each)
  • 3.3. Add the milk and sugar, let it come to a boil once more, and then strain it into the cups, and serve. This one is usually allowed to simmer for little longer.
