Maharashtra's bustling variety of spicy and masaledaar food needs no introduction! From the fiery Kolhapuri specialities to the world-famous vada pav, the state has given us many gastronomic gems that we just can't get over! Another one of the favourites from the streets of Mumbai is a scrumptious gravy dish that is usually enjoyed for lunch or dinner, and it's called the misal pav. For the uninitiated, it's a gravy dish made with a mix of legumes and topped with chopped onions, coriander, a drizzle of lemon juice and some fried snacks called farsan. A toasted pav is then used to dunk out the gravy for a bite of this perfectly textured and flavoured Maharashtrian dish.
Maharashtra, which is also home to Bollywood, sees a lot of notable celebrities and big shot personalities munching on these classic dishes. The recent case in point here is renowned actress Neena Gupta. However, the 'Badhaai Ho' famed actor shared more than just pictures of herself devouring this dish; Neena uploaded the recipe for making misal pav at home. Better yet, it comes with a healthy twist and can be easily followed by each one of us. Take a look:
