A US-based startup has raised a whopping USD 108 million in funding to developed a new generation of plant-based cheeseburgers. The four-year-old company, Impossible Foods, based in Redwood City, California, specializes in plant-based meats and cheeses. The company currently manufactures nut milk products like almond milk, sliced cheese, ricotta cheese, ravioli and cream cheese, 'TechCrunch' reported.

'Impossible Foods' was founded by Patrick Brown, who spent 25 years as a Stanford biochemistry professor before co-founding a food company called Kite Hill. The company has developed numerous nut milk products that it says are healthier and more sustainable than their dairy counterparts.
