Monsoon season is drawing to a close, and as we bid adieu to the rainy days, it means that the winters are approaching fast. The transition period between these seasons means that it's time to make the switch from wearing light, airy clothes to warm, snug ones; to move over chilled ice creams and popsicles to comforting soups and hot drinks. Karisma Kapoor's Khow Suey dish looked extremely appetising and was made akin to a truly authentic Burmese preparation. The noodles in the broth featured prominently, as did the garnish of fried onions, garlic greens and peanuts.
Khow Suey is a traditional dish from Burma which is a one-pot meal comprising noodles, vegetables and a comforting broth. The recipe uses a mixture of coconut milk and gram flour as the base, which gives it a creamy and luscious texture. The Khow Suey noodle soup also has loads of vegetables and is garnished with fried garlic or coarsely ground peanuts.
