Delicious fruity cake with apple and pears. Served with a thick cinnamon custard.

Ingredients of Apple and Pear Cake

  • For the cake:
  • 350 gm cored, peeled and sliced apples
  • 350 gm cored, peeled and sliced pears
  • 125 gm castor sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 100 ml sunflower oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 150 gm flour
  • 250 ml milk
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Cinnamon Custard:
  • 500 ml milk
  • 3-4 pc 1 inch cinnamon sticks
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 75 gm castor sugar

How to Make Apple and Pear Cake

  • 1.Grease a cake tin and arrange the sliced apples and pears on the base.
  • 2.Prepare a batter with the remaining ingredients.
  • 3.Mix well and pour over the fruits.
  • 4.Bake at 200 degrees C for 30 minutes.
  • 5.Cool and sprinkle with icing sugar.
  • For the Cinnamon Custard:
  • 1.Boil milk with cinnamon sticks.
  • 2.Beat egg yolks along with sugar for 5 minutes.
  • 3.Combine the eggs with the milk and return to gentle flame.
  • 4.Stir continuously until the custard thickens.
  • 5.Strain and serve hot/cold with the cake.
