Creamy batter made of rava, besan and potatoes, and deep fried till crisp. It makes for a perfect evening snack, especially during monsoons.

Ingredients of Rava Pakodas

  • 1 cup rava
  • 1/4 cup besan
  • 2 medium-sized onions, chopped
  • 2 potatoes, finely chopped
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 5-6 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 3 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • 2-3 Tbsp coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

How to Make Rava Pakodas

  • 1.Dry roast rava in a pan until golden brown.
  • 2.Then remove from flame and soak in 1 cup water for 1 hour.
  • 3.Heat oil in a deep pan till it becomes hot.
  • 4.Mix besan and remaining ingredients, then add the soaked rava.
  • 5.Mix well, and add water to make pakoda batter.
  • 6.Add the batter to the hot oil, a little at a time (one could also use a spoon to put the batter).
  • 7.Fry until golden brown. Serve hot with green chutney, or chutney of your choice.
