Situated on the Siri Fort Road, Diggin is spread across two floors. Bookshelves, collectibles and an array of delicious pastries and desserts, the ground floor of Diggin is quite cosy and vibrant. The first floor is the delightful dining area with wooden tables and extraordinary lighting. And just for a moment if you have been thinking that this place is all looks and no substance, then Diggin with its Italian and Continental fare impresses again.

Pizza lovers must try their delicious Pesto Pepperoni pizza and Chicken overloaded pizza and if you can't pick between the two you can half them half and half in one same pizza. That's what we did and have never been more proud of a decision made in recent times. Thin and crispy crust went perfectly well with the loaded pizza, one half of which was packed with pepperoni, mozzarella , sun dried tomatoes, pesto sauce and cheese. The chicken loaded portion was loaded in every sense of the word with chunks of roasted chicken, chicken sausage, salami, spring onion, tangy tomato sauce and oodles of mozzarella.
Another must-have at Diggins' is their Belgian Chocolate shake. Thick and wholesome, the shake is every chocolate lover's dream come true. Next on our plates was the lovely lamb lasagna. The cheesy lasagna could have been a delight had they not gone so heavy on the lamb and cheese. It seemed as if the sauce was finding too hard to cut through the dominance of the former ingredients. We missed the flavour of the sauce which really had so much potential to stand out and got lost in the mish mash of so many things happening at once.
What makes Diggins' food special, is despite being the famous college adda, never does it take its food less seriously. It genuinely has all that it takes to make it one of the best Italian and continental café in South Delhi. The menu has a delectable Italian fare in Chicken leg confit, Pan seared fish, Prawn squid piziolla and lamb shanks- most of these exotic specials are slightly out of the reach for a regular college going youth in their meagre pocket money. But Diggin still has them as part of their lavish food fare. And tries to do very earnest job in making sure all their food is as close to the authentic deal as possible.
Diggin has also recently opened their second outlet in Chanakyapuri, and the initial word of mouth reviews have been majorly positive too.
If you are lucky you may also have occasional visits from the dogs who are playing around in the compound. So if you have no plans this weekend then head to this warm and cozy eatery in the heart of Delhi.
