Liver mixed with yogurt, spices, ginger, garlic paste and cooked with onions.

Ingredients of Bhuni Kaleji

  • 500 gm chicken/ mutton liver-washed and wiped dry
  • 1/2 tsp ginger paste
  • 1/2 tsp garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/4 cup yoghurt
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 Tbsp ghee
  • 1/2 cup grated onions
  • 2 Tbsp coriander leaves and lemon wedges-to garnish

How to Make Bhuni Kaleji

  • 1.Chop the liver into small pieces and mix in the ginger, garlic, chilli powder, yoghurt, garam masala and salt.
  • 2.Heat the ghee, add the onions and saute till golden brown.
  • 3.Add the liver mixture and saute till the fat separates.
  • 4.Add 1/2 cup of water and pressure cook for 5 minutes.
  • 5.Stir-fry to dry the water completely, and separate the fat.
  • 6.Serve garnished with coriander leaves and lemon wedges.
