Spellbound: Food and Drinks Menu
Curated and brought together by Chef Izzat Hussain, the menu boasts of a variety of dishes, which include forty-two starters and an exotic main course from old royal gharanas. Yes, you read that right! The food served here is quite different from the others in terms of taste and texture, primarily because of the chef's unique cooking style; wherein each dish is prepared without using water and curd. The chef uses the moisture of the dish to cook the meal itself, in order to retain the actual flavours. The highlights of the menu were murg kalapasi, which was cooked in all black spices; melt-in-mouth galautikebabs; and murg malai tikka. However, the murg lashkari tikka was a bit chewy.
And, if you think that there are less vegetarian options, then you're mistaken. For vegetarians, there's paneer aam chutney tikka, which is not only appealing to the eyes but to the palate as well. It has a stuffing of dried mangochutney, which adds a nice tang to the appetiser. Another stellar preparation was the shikampuri kebabs that had a stuffing of protein-rich lobia beans, which had a mild spicy after-taste. The main course had dal shahzaadi, mutton badami korma, and paneer begam pasand teamed with izzat ki roti, which was a signature delight. The izzat ki roti is perfect for people who are watching their weight, as it is multi-herb, multi-spice and multi-grain.
If you happen to be a biryani lover, then do try their mutton zaffrani biryani and kaju zaffrani biryani. The piquant aroma of saffron in biryani, is sure to make you crave for more. The drinks menu features several fizzy mocktails and delicious shakes; however, the showstopper was the pulpy kiwi, which was refreshing and soothing. Last, but not the least, to satiate you sweet tooth cravings, Spellbound offers pakiza phirni, which is undoubtedly a perfect end to the hearty meal.
