Chocolate Pavlova with Strawberries

  • An easy breezy chocolate pavlova, baked perfect and served with cream and strawberries.


  • For meringue:
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 cup castor sugar
  • 3 Tbsp cocoa powder, sieved
  • 1 vanilla pod, scraped

  • To serve:
  • 500 ml double cream
  • 500 gms sliced strawberries


  1. Whisk the egg whites until satiny smooth peaks form, beat the sugar a spoonful at a time until the meringue is still and shiny.
  2. Add chocolate powder, vanilla pod seeds and fold gently.
  3. Mount onto a baking tray and place into the oven at 180 degrees for 1 hour 15 minutes.

  4. To serve:
  5. Whisk the double cream till thick but still soft and pile it over the meringue.
  6. Garnish with sliced strawberries.
