  • This paneer lababdar recipe is creamy and aromatic. Cottage cheese cooked with tomato puree, varied spices, kasoori methi and a hearty dollop of cream and butter.


  • 150 gm cottage cheese
  • 50 gm refined oil
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 50 gm chopped onion
  • 50 gm chopped tomato
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp kasoori methi
  • 25 gm white butter
  • 50 gm fresh cream
  • Salt to taste

  • Garnish:
  • Chopped coriander
  • Shredded ginger
  • Sliced tomato peel


  1. Heat oil in a pan. Saute jeera and chopped onion in the pan until brown.
  2. Add chopped tomatoes and stir well.
  3. Pour some tomato puree over it for color.
  4. Cook over low flame for a minute.
  5. Add the jeera powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, and a dash of kasoori methi.
  6. Stir in the paneer.
  7. Mix the paneer well with the masalas. Let it cook over a low flame for 5 - 10 minutes. Remove from flame.
  8. Pour the butter and cream over the paneer.
  9. Garnish Paneer Lababdar with shredded ginger, chopped coriander and sliced tomato peel.
  10. Serve hot.
