Liven up your meal with this fiery hit! This one is made with dried red chillies, coconut milk, grated coconut, spices, tomatoes and tomato puree.

Ingredients of Madrasi Meat Curry

  • 1/2 grated coconut
  • 10-12 dried red chillies
  • 1/2
  • 3 tsp peeled garlic cloves
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 peppercorns
  • 2 small bay leaves
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 cloves
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
  • 4-6 tbsp oil
  • 3 ground onions
  • 1 kg meat - cut into 2 pieces
  • Tomatoes, large ripe
  • 1 Tbsp thick tomato puree

How to Make Madrasi Meat Curry

1.Extract the milk from the coconut.
2.Grind remaining coconut with chillies, ginger, garlic and all the spices.
3.Heat oil and fry onions until colored.
4.Add spiced paste and fry until oil separates.
5.Then add meat. Stir fry it for 10 minutes.
6.Add tomatoes and puree to the mixture.
7.Cook for 5 minutes. Then season it as per taste.
8.Pour in 1/2 litre water. Simmer until meat is tender.
9.Pour in coconut milk.
10.Heat through and serve.
