A creamy yogurt based dip with the crunchiness of onions and peanuts. Tempered with mustard seeds.

Ingredients of Yogurt Dip

  • 250 ml natural unsweetened yogurt
  • 1 onion, finely sliced or chopped
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1 green chilli, finely chopped
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 tsp brown mustard seeds
  • 10-12 unsalted peanuts (optional), skinned

How to Make Yogurt Dip

1.In a bowl, whip the yogurt until it is creamy.
2.Fold in the onion, tomato, green chilli, and salt.
3.Heat the oil in a small frying pan, then add the mustard seeds.
4.Fry for a few seconds until you can smell the aroma, then tip in the peanuts, if using.
5.Fry for a minute, making sure they don't burn.
6.When the mixture has cooled gently add it to the yogurt.
7.Serve chilled.
