Straight from the land of Rajputs comes this fiery mutton specialty. Chef Kunal Kapur takes us through the recipe in easy, fuss-free steps. Cook up a storm and delight all at dinner tonight.


  • 500 grams mutton
  • 3-4 Tbsp mustard oil
  • 5-6 Cloves
  • 3-4 sliced onions
  • 2 Tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2-3 Mathania red chilli paste
  • 1- cup dahi
  • 3-4 chopped garlic
  • 2-3 Tbsp ghee
  • Charcoal for smoking

How to Make Laal Maas (My Yellow Table)

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cloves.
  2. Sauté sliced onion till golden brown.
  3. Now, add mutton and fry.
  4. Further add ginger garlic paste, Mathania red chilli paste, dahi and salt.
  5. Cover and cook over low flame.
  6. Add sautéed garlic.
  7. Smoke with charcoal
  8. Serve hot!
