Gajjar Ka Gajrela

Grated carrots cooked in milk, ghee and nuts. Perfect for a cold winter evening.


  • 1 kg carrots, grated
  • 1 liter milk
  • 7 green cardamom cloves
  • 7 Tbsp condensed milk/ khoya
  • Cinnamon, a pinch
  • 6 tsp ghee
  • 3 Tbsp cream
  • 25 gm cashew nuts
  • 25 gm almonds
  • 25 gm raisins
  • 250 gm sugar

How to Make Gajjar Ka Gajrela

  1. In a pan, add grated carrots, milk, green cardamom, condensed milk and grated cinnamon.
  2. Cook them all together and let the carrot absorb the milk.
  3. Add ghee into the pan and mix it well.
  4. In a different pan, saute add ghee, cashew nut, almond and raisins.
  5. Add the fried dry fruit mix into the pan and add some cream into it. Mix them well.
  6. Serve hot.
